Review of the FileMaker Conference 2025
Markus Schall has written a review of the FileMaker Conference 2025 in Hamburg on his blog, in which he describes his impressions. This year's FileMaker conference was all about artificial intelligence and electronic invoices.
Announcement of the conference
In just under a month, the FileMaker Conference 2025 will open its doors in Hamburg (September 15-17, 2025). Markus Schall, developer of the ERP software gFM-Business and owner of gofilemaker.de, will be back this year after a long break.
For me, attending the conference this year is a fixed date in my calendar. It is already my fifth visit of this kind. I have previously attended conferences in Hamburg and Salzburg - encounters that have brought me many valuable contacts and friendships over the years.
Why I am happy
The German-language FileMaker Conference has existed in this format for over ten years. For me, it is a place of continuity - a meeting place for developers, users and decision-makers who use FileMaker in practice and develop it further. I particularly remember the FileMaker Conference 2011, where I was honored with the FMM Award 2011 by FileMaker Magazine. This award was not only recognition for me, but also motivation to continue on my path with FileMaker.
I am looking forward to seeing many familiar faces again, continuing old conversations and taking away new ideas. For me, this conference is always a living tradition - and that's what makes it so valuable.
New ideas for ERP and AI integration
This year, I also have some new ideas on how ERP systems can be integrated even more closely with local artificial intelligence. I'm not interested in short-term gimmicks, but in solutions that create real added value in everyday life - from more intelligent process management to semantic knowledge graphs and automated evaluations. I am particularly excited to see what approaches other developers will be presenting at the conference. The exchange about different approaches is always one of the most valuable parts of this event for me.
My publishing house and "The somewhat different database book"

I will of course be bringing the new book with me to Hamburg - and it can be purchased directly from me if you wish. If you like, you can also get a signed copy.
Interested, but no ticket yet?
At the time of publication of this article, the online store is still offering tickets for this year's FileMaker Conference. A ticket costs 799 euros including VAT and includes participation in all events at the JUFA HOTEL in Hamburg Hafencity from September 15 to 17.
The conference schedule for all three days can be viewed and downloaded from the FileMaker Conference website.
Exchange at eye level
I don't go to Hamburg to reel off presentations, but to exchange ideas - at eye level. For me, it's about listening, sharing experiences and talking about practicable solutions together.
Especially in the FileMaker world, we all benefit from giving each other insights into how we approach things and which approaches have proven successful. This philosophy has been practiced in the FileMaker scene for decades, and I'm delighted to be back in Hamburg this year!
