What is Browse mode in FileMaker?

Browse mode is one of the four modes in FileMaker Browse mode, Search mode, Page view mode and Layout mode. Browse mode is used to display data records on the current layout and is therefore normally the default mode during the runtime of a database. Browse mode can be activated by the user with the menu command [View > Browse mode] or by a script with the command Activate scroll mode [] can be called up.

Browse mode in FileMakerThe three display modes are available in scroll mode Form, List and Table available, which can be activated with the menu commands [View > Form view], [View > List view] and [View > Table view] can be called up.

Which mode is currently active can be determined with the script command Get ( window mode ) can be queried. If scroll mode is active, this script command returns the value 0, 1 if search mode is active, 2 if page view mode is active and 3 if a print process is currently running.
